What happens when your Streamline site goes live?
Last updated: October 2024
If you’re using a custom domain, the process of pointing it to your new Streamline site typically takes just a few minutes, but it may take up to 48-72 hours for the changes to fully propagate online. Make sure to wait for our official confirmation before announcing your site.
On your go-live date, here’s what to expect:
1) Updating Your Domain Settings
We’ll provide you with “DNS information” to help you update your domain settings. If you (or your domain manager) log in to your registrar account (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Bluehost), you’ll use this information to adjust your domain’s DNS settings.
Tip: Don’t see your DNS information? Contact us, and we’ll get it to you right away!
Need any additional support from your domain provider?
While exact steps vary by registrar, most provide helpful tutorials. We’re always available if you need a hand. Once updated, it may take 48-72 hours for the changes to fully reflect across the Internet.
2) Issuing Your Security Certificate
We’ll handle issuing your SSL certificates, ensuring your site loads securely over HTTPS. You may notice some security warnings during this setup, but rest assured, your site will be safe.
3) It’s Time to Announce!
Once your domain is set and your site loads securely, your Streamline site is officially live! Search engines will begin to find your site as they automatically look for new content.
For the best visibility in search results, consider linking your Streamline site from reputable sources, such as county websites or relevant associations you belong to. Before spreading the word, wait for our confirmation message celebrating your launch. We’ll let you know when it’s time to share your new site with the world!
