How to embed video on your website pages
Last updated: September 2024
If you would like to post a video that isn't hosted on either YouTube or Vimeo, you will need to upload the video to your Content Library and add it as a File element instead for your visitors to download and watch.
Embedding videos on your Streamline website is a great way to enhance your pages with visual content. Whether you’re sharing event recordings, promotional material, or other video content, using video elements from YouTube or Vimeo is both easy and effective. Here’s how you can do it:
Supported Video Formats
Currently, Streamline supports embedding videos from YouTube and Vimeo only. These platforms offer auto-captioning options, ensuring that your videos meet accessibility standards. If your video isn’t hosted on either platform, you can create a free YouTube account, upload your videos there, and then embed them on your Streamline site. Just make sure the videos are set to “anyone with the link can view,” even if they’re not searchable on YouTube and that you toggle on the auto-closed captioning option.
