Quicklinks: Adding and Removing

Keep your homepage Quicklinks fresh with clear, accessible teasers.

Last updated: August 2025

The Quicklinks zone on your Streamline homepage helps visitors jump to your most important pages fast. Each Quicklink is a teaser that shows an icon and the page title (no summary). Choosing concise, descriptive titles improves accessibility and wayfinding.

Note: Quicklinks exist in both Streamline and Amplify platforms—but handled differently.
This article covers Streamline Quicklinks only.
For Amplify, see the “How do I customize my new Amplify homepage?” guide, under the Quicklinks section.

Follow along below

Add a New Quicklink

  1. Go to your homepage and click Edit.

  2. Open the Quicklinks dropdown/panel.

  3. Click Add New and either:

    • Link an existing page, or

    • Create a new page directly from here.

  4. Set the title (this becomes the visible link text).

    • Aim for 1–2 lines that are descriptive and accurate.

    • Avoid “Click here” or vague labels.

    • This title can be customized in the Edit Teaser section.

  5. Choose an icon (optional but recommended):

    • In the image field, click Customize image → Select from stock photography.

    • Scroll to the bottom to browse available Streamline icons and choose one that fits the page’s purpose.

    • Not seeing an icon that works? Use IconsDB to find a free, simple, accessible icon.

  6. Save to publish your new Quicklink.

Note: Quicklinks only display the page title from the teaser. Keep it short, specific, and accessible.

Remove a Quicklink

  1. From your homepage, click Edit.

  2. Open the Quicklinks dropdown/panel.

  3. Click the pencil (edit) icon on the Quicklink you want to remove.

  4. Click Remove this teaser.

  5. Save your changes.

Accessibility & Content Best Practices

  • Use descriptive titles that make sense out of context (e.g., “Pay Your Water Bill” instead of “Click here”).

  • Avoid ALL CAPS; it reduces readability and may be read inconsistently by screen readers.

  • Don’t repeat the same Quicklink multiple times on the homepage.

  • Icons should be simple and recognizable — avoid icons with text inside them.

  • Always pair icons with a clear Quicklink title. Icons are visual aids, not replacements for link text.

  • For more guidance, see Accessibility: Link Name Issues.
