Notification Banner Options in Amplify
Last updated: December 2025
Notification Banner Overview
The Notification Banner Section allows you to display an important message at the top of your Amplify page. This section is ideal for alerts, announcements, reminders, or anything you want visitors to see immediately when they arrive.
This article walks through how to add a Notification Banner, customize its content, and control how it appears on your site.

Add a Notification Banner to a Page
-
Go to your Amplify page where you want the banner to appear.
-
Click any blue + icon where you want to add a Designer Section.
-
Select Notification Banner, then click Apply.
Enter Your Notification Message
Once the Notification Banner section is added:
-
Click inside the banner text area.
-
Type the message you want visitors to see.
Notification banners are intended for concise, high-priority information. Keep messages brief and clear.
Configure Banner Settings
You can adjust how and where your Notification Banner appears using the Edit Section settings.
Show on Page Load
-
Enable Show on Page Load to display the banner automatically when visitors arrive on the page.
-
When disabled, the banner can be triggered manually (such as by clicking a link).
This helps control whether the message appears immediately or only in specific contexts.
Show Dismiss Button
-
Enable Show Dismiss Button to let visitors close the banner.
-
When this option is on, a close “X” appears so visitors can hide the notification after viewing.
This improves user experience for banners that aren’t critical throughout the entire visit.
Customize the Appearance
You can visually tailor the Notification Banner using the Edit Section settings.
Section Color
-
Choose a Section Color to control the background color of the banner.
-
Use colors that provide good contrast with the text so the message is easy to read.
Color choice can help convey urgency (e.g., red for alerts) or match branding.
Add Padding
-
Enable Add Padding to add spacing around the banner content.
-
Padding helps improve readability and ensures the banner doesn’t feel too tight against surrounding content.
Section Title Alignment
Though Notification Banners typically use a single message line, you can also control how any supporting content aligns within the section:
-
Left Aligned
-
Centered
This affects any additional text elements in the banner.
Save and Preview
When you’re finished configuring your Notification Banner:
-
Click Save to publish the section.
-
Preview the page to see how the banner appears and behaves.
The banner will now show the message you entered according to the settings you selected.
