Customizing Internal Pages in Amplify

Learn how to edit layouts, manage content, and enhance internal pages using Amplify’s simple and flexible page editor.

Last updated: November 2025

Internal pages give you the space to share detailed information with your community. Amplify makes it easy to adjust layouts, add new content, and keep pages accessible for all visitors. This guide walks through the tools available on every internal page and how to use them with confidence.

Top-Right Page Tools

When you view an internal page, you will see four important tools in the top-right corner:

Edit

Select Edit to enter Edit Mode. This lets you update your content, rearrange sections, and add new blocks to your page.

History

Select History to see all previously published versions of the page. You can review older edits and choose Revert to This Version at any time if you need to return to an earlier layout.

Share

Select Share to open a pop-up that lets you instantly share your page. You can send it by email or post directly to Facebook, LinkedIn, Nextdoor, or X.

Accessible or Fix

This button shows your page’s accessibility status.

  • If it displays Fix, selecting it opens the Accessibility Assistant, which scans your page and lists any accessibility issues that need improvement.

  • If it displays Accessible, it means your page currently meets recommended accessibility practices.

You can open the Accessibility Assistant whenever you want to re-scan and keep your page inclusive for all visitors.

Entering Edit Mode

Select Edit to begin making updates. Edit Mode works the same way as your homepage. You will see blue plus signs that allow you to add new Designer Sections anywhere on the page.

Designer Sections include banners, event listings, quicklinks, videos, forms, and more. Each option has its own customization tools, and several will be covered in their own step-by-step tutorials.

Editing the Page Title

At the top of the content area, you will see the page title section. Select Edit Title to rename your page or update the header text. Select Save when finished.

Updating Page Layout Options

Select Layout in the top-right corner to adjust the overall look of your page. Here you can:

  • Change the page color theme

  • Select a new layout style

Amplify includes several layout styles such as Interior Standard, Room to Breathe, No Navigation, and Landing Page. Some layouts include a Preview Section on the right-hand side of the page.

Customizing the Preview Section

The Preview Section helps you highlight important content or direct visitors to related pages.

Select Edit Section to open the customization options. Here you can:

  • Set a title and subtitle

  • Choose alignment

  • Select a section color

You can also choose between different layouts, such as Standard or Cards. The Additional Layout Options tab lets you adjust:

  • Image styles, including square or wide

  • Appearance settings such as rounded corners or drop shadows

If your layout includes subpages, you can choose to automatically include those links within the preview section.

Page Settings

Select Settings to update your page’s preview image and description. These details appear when your page is shown in search results or shared on social media. Clear and helpful descriptions make your content look professional and inviting.

Adding Designer Sections

To add new content anywhere on your page, select a blue plus icon.

Designer Sections include:

  • Image banners

  • Meeting lists

  • Quicklinks

  • Forms

  • Videos

  • Highlight blocks

  • Event listings

  • And more

You can also add Video Banners or Image Banners. These stretch across the top of your page underneath the navigation bar or above the footer. Banners are great for important announcements, calls to action, or visually rich introductions.

Saving and Publishing

When your changes are ready, select Save. To make your updates public:

  1. Select Publish

  2. Choose Save and Publish to confirm

Your updates will appear instantly on the live site.

Exiting Edit Mode

If you are not ready to publish, select Exit. You will be asked whether you want to:

  • Save as Draft to continue working later

  • Discard Changes to undo the edits you made

Drafts allow you to build and refine your page without going live until you are ready.
